Nicole Elliott Bays

Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula, Certified Childbirth Educator, and Certified Lactation Educator

Nicole has been enjoying educating and supporting families through their birth and postpartum period for over ten years as a childbirth educator, labor doula, postpartum doula and lactation educator. She is a parent educator at Advent Health Shawnee Mission, and also teaches custom private classes whether it is prepping for cesarean, postpartum, newborn care, and breastfeeding.

Everyone’s birth is so unique, and Nicole wants the new family unit to come out of the experience of labor and birth feeling heard and supported, both emotionally and physically. Her role as a labor doula is to provide informed and educated consent so that her clients can make the best decision for THEIR birth.

With Nicole’s daytime support and overnight postpartum care she can help ease that transition with your baby by helping to nourish your body with food and rest, as well as providing newborn care guidance, feeding support via bottle or breast, and reassurance that you are doing the best for your baby.

Nicole is married and has two wonderful and beautiful daughters. When Elliott was born, two fires lit inside of her the first to be the best mother she could and the second to serve others in their journey of motherhood. Penelope is a rainbow baby and she knows the path to parenthood can be a bumpy and a heart wrenching journey. Nicole wants to be there for the families in those moments and when they get to hold their beautiful miracles.

"When I look back at my son’s birth, I can’t imagine going through it without [Nicole]. She just knew what I needed, when I needed it. She had me changing positions, going to the bathroom, listening to music, smelling essential oils, etc. It felt natural for her to be there and my husband always felt a part of the birth."

-- Elly

"[Nicole’s] calming presence, support and wealth of knowledge were all invaluable during both of my births. My first was an unplanned C-section, and having her there during the decision-making process and post-surgery was incredibly reassuring for a new mommy. In 2015, pregnant with my second child, Nicole's counseling and encouragement gave me the confidence to plan and prepare for a VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean). Nicole cares deeply about her clients. She goes above and beyond to ensure that every question receives a timely and thoughtful answer. With her as your doula, you feel valued, heard and empowered. I could not recommend her more highly."

-- Sarah

"Nicole was priceless during my delivery! Her calm encouraging voice helped me so much! She was the best coach I could ask for! Having Nicole allowed my husband to focus on encouraging me, while Nicole instructed me."

-- Jessica

"I will never forget how scared I was coming from the hospital as a first time mom, not knowing how I was going to do it. [Nicole] gave me the confidence, support, and education to know that I was doing the absolute best I could for my children. I appreciate [Nicole] waking me during the midnight hours to educate me on nursing the twins, encouraging me to keep doing so when I wanted to give up, and finding the solution when I physically couldn't do so any longer."
